The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) has recognized outstanding work on the Avita Health System tower at Richland Mall in Ontario, Ohio. Alumni Roofing designed and installed a custom solution to re-cover an existing and unique structure atop the building - one that had become a local symbol to the community. Many local and national news publications covered this award, including the Mansfield News-Journal.
Known as "the source for the roofing industry," Professional Roofing Magazine is the industry's premiere source for residential and commercial roofers. In response to accolades and attention garnered for work on the Avita Health System tower at Richland Mall, Alumni Roofing was featured in this prominent publication.
Alumni Roofing began by removing the old roof system and installed a Garland® 2-ply Torch Down Roof System over a new lightweight concrete insulating system. This project covered 22,800 square feet and holds a 30-year warranty.
The uniqueness of this job is the location - the roof is located at a busy intersection of downtown Columbus and is 200 feet off the ground. We used a 275 foot crane to load material and remove debris.
On this large 150,000 square foot roof, Alumni Roofing is conducting a partial roof tear-off and installing a new GAF® 060 TPO Rhino Bond System that will carry a 20-year warranty.
Showing our flexibility to meet any budget, this project has been done in two phases (one in 2015, one in 2016). And although there were many roof penetrations, extra precautions were performed to keep the customer dry; resulting in no lost production time.
With multiple sections of the roof to tackle, Alumni Roofing handled this project in two tiers; first a complete tear off with installation of a GAF® TPO Mechanically-Installed System on a steep slope roof. This carries a 20-year warranty.
In the second tier, another complete tear off followed by a GAF® Built Up Roof System with new gutter system on a low slope roof section with a 20-year warranty. Knowing the low roof section was susceptible to winter weather, we also installed an Alpine SnowGuard® system to protect this area from heavy snow falling and damaging the roof in the future.
